Bit Group used interactive media and custom photography to update MyOmniPod.com, which enables Insulet Corporation to address multiple audiences with focused messages to educate and encourage diabetes patients to simplify their lives by using the OmniPod® Insulin Management System.
MyOmniPod.com speaks to diabetes patients, doctors and insurance providers about how diabetes can be a smaller part of life with the OmniPod Insulin Management System. With each audience needing specific product and disease information, Bit Group used movies and Flash animation of lifestyle and product photography to show how the OmniPod Insulin Management System, including a self-adhesive insulin pod and wireless Personal Diabetes Manager (PDM), delivers insulin efficiently and discretely.

MyOmniPod.com is built on Bit Group’s Avail Content Management System, which empowers Insulet Corporation with real-time content editing and dynamic updating of Web site structure and navigation. Bit Group established a relationship with Insulet Corporation three years ago and continuously creates and incorporates company and product messaging and interactive media into MyOmniPod.com. The latest updates include:
- Design and development of a product section, as well as an educational page about Continuous Subcutaneous Insulin Infusion (CSII) therapy, an intensive insulin therapy for diabetes that is often called insulin pump therapy;
- Implementation of a Flash movie, providing an overview of the OmniPod Insulin Management System;
- Creation of a Flash user interface to select and play streaming videos;
- Downloads and caching of user-selected videos, instead of all at once, saving bandwidth for the user and Insulet Corporation;
- Custom spotlights to highlight the new content, with an extra spotlight on the homepage to draw attention to Insulet Corporation’s Medical Design Excellence Award.
